Job summary

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience preferred.
• Experience in CNC machine operation and setting.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings, tolerances, and measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, speeds, feeds, and machining processes.
• Ability to identify and resolve basic machining problems.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC turning centres and CNC lathes.
• Perform machine setup, job loading, tool setting, and workpiece alignment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Modify CNC programs using G-codes and M-codes.
• Work with CNC controllers such as FANUC and Siemens, as applicable.
• Perform turning, facing, grooving, threading, chamfering, and drilling operations.
• Select cutting tools, inserts, and machining parameters.
• Measure components using vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other instruments.
• Conduct first-piece inspection and routine quality checks.
• Troubleshoot machining issues, tool wear, and dimensional variations.
• Maintain machine cleanliness, follow safety procedures, and achieve production targets.
