Job summary

SP Staffing in Chennai is seeking an experienced CNC Setter cum Programmer to join our production team. The successful candidate will set up CNC machines, load programs, and ensure precision as per engineering drawings.

You will read GD&T, work with Fanuc/Siemens controls, and conduct in-process inspection, maintaining quality and timely production. This role requires 3 to 7 years hands-on experience and a strong eye for detail in a non-automotive manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC setting and programming on metalworking machines.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with Fanuc or Siemens controls preferred.
• Hands-on with precision measuring instruments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines, including tooling, fixtures and program loading.
• Perform machine setting and ensure correct tool offsets and workpiece alignment.
• Operate CNC machines to manufacture precision components as per drawings and specifications.
• Input, modify, adjust and optimize CNC programs for efficient machining.
• Troubleshoot machining and program-related issues.
• Carry out in-process inspection to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Use micrometers, gauges and other precision measuring instruments.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
• Perform routine machine checks and Daily Preventive Maintenance.
• Maintain production records, inspection reports and machine logs.
• Follow production targets, quality requirements and workplace safety procedures.
