Role Description

This is a client requirement for Planning Manager who will be responsible for managing and overseeing project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and project control activities for on-site operations at Jharsuguda, Lapanga/ Sonepat, Hariyana.


The role involves developing and maintaining integrated project schedules, coordinating with project management, engineering, construction, procurement, and other functional teams, and ensuring timely achievement of project milestones and deliverables.


The Planning Manager will monitor project progress against approved schedules, analyze delays and variances, identify potential risks, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.


Day-to-day responsibilities include preparation of progress reports, look-ahead schedules, planning dashboards, and project control reports, along with participation in internal and client planning meetings.


The role will also involve resource planning, productivity monitoring, progress measurement, schedule forecasting, and coordination with contractors and other stakeholders to ensure effective execution of project activities.


The Planning Manager will support project management in maintaining schedule performance, optimizing resources, and ensuring alignment with overall project objectives.


Qualifications
  • Strong Project Planning, Scheduling, and Project Control skills, with proven experience in developing, monitoring, and managing detailed project schedules.
  • Must have industry experience - Oil/Gas, Thermal, Automobile
  • Experience in construction/production planning, resource planning, progress measurement, and productivity monitoring for EPC/EPCM or industrial projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify schedule variances, delays, critical activities, and recommend effective recovery measures.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills for working with project managers, engineering teams, construction teams, contractors, consultants, and clients.
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related discipline) or an equivalent technical qualification.
  • Hands-on experience with Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Excel; proficiency in project planning and reporting tools.
  • 10 to 12 years of relevant experience in project planning, scheduling, or project controls within engineering, construction, EPC/EPCM, or industrial projects.
  • Experience in preparing baseline schedules, progress updates, look-ahead schedules, recovery schedules, manpower/resource plans, and management reports.
  • Ability to work effectively on-site, manage multiple priorities, and deliver accurate planning and reporting within time constraints.
  • Good understanding of EPC/EPCM project workflows, construction methodologies, risk management, schedule control, and basic cost control concepts.
  • Ability to lead planning activities, guide planning engineers, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely project execution.
