Job summary

Mezcalita in Mumbai is seeking a Captain to lead a section of the floor, ensuring guests receive attentive, high-quality service and the team delivers a consistent guest experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in hotel management preferred but not mandatory.
• Minimum 23 years of experience in a similar role at a full‑service venue.
• Strong guest handling, communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate stewards in the assigned section.
• Take orders, upsell menu items and ensure timely service.
• Ensure accurate delivery from kitchen/bar to table.
• Handle guest queries and escalate when needed.
• Perform table checks and uphold SOPs.
• Train staff on service etiquette and menu knowledge.
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar for smooth flow.
• Assist in opening/closing checklists and stock checks.

Role Summary: We are hiring a Captain for Mezcalita to lead a section of the floor, ensuring guests receive attentive, high-quality service and the team delivers a consistent guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate stewards within the assigned section
• Take guest orders, suggest menu items, and manage upselling
• Ensure timely and accurate order delivery from kitchen/bar to table
• Handle guest queries, feedback, and minor complaints; elevate when needed
• Conduct table checks and ensure service standards (SOPs) are followed
• Train and guide stewards on service etiquette and menu knowledge
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams for smooth service flow
• Assist in opening/closing checklists and section-wise stock checks

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management preferred, not mandatory
• Minimum 23 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a full-service restaurant/bar
• Strong communication and guest-handling skills
