Qualifications

Role Description

The Captain role at Habibi’s Cafe & Bistro is a full-time, on-site position based in Thane, focused on delivering an excellent guest experience and smooth floor operations. The Captain will oversee table service, coordinate with service staff, and ensure guests are welcomed, seated, and attended to promptly and courteously. Responsibilities include managing reservations and table allocations, briefing and guiding the service team, monitoring order flow, and ensuring food and beverages are served according to quality and presentation standards. The role also involves handling guest inquiries and feedback, resolving service issues, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and supporting daily opening and closing procedures. The Captain will work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to maintain effective communication and consistent service throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Strong front-of-house service skills, including guest engagement, table management, and hospitality-focused problem-solving.
• Experience in team coordination and supervision, with the ability to brief, guide, and support service staff during busy shifts.
• Knowledge of food and beverage service standards, preferably with exposure to café, bistro, or Middle Eastern cuisine environments.
• Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
• Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance with hygiene protocols.
• Previous experience as a Captain or senior serving staff in a restaurant, café, or hotel setting is strongly preferred.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays, in line with operating hours of 10:00 AM to 1:00 AM.
• Basic proficiency in point-of-sale systems and order management tools; additional language skills are an advantage.
