Job summary

Tata Technologies Ltd. is seeking an experienced design engineer for BIW welding fixtures. You will design clamps, pin units, slides, and retractable components, and create robust 2D drawings and BOMs for manufacturing.

You will work with CATIA V5 and UG NX, with Teamcenter familiarity, and engage with multiple OEMs to ensure design integrity and manufacturability. This role involves hands-on CAD work and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in designing and detailing spot welding and MIG welding fixtures.
• Exposure to welding lines processes and layout (spot welding, arc welding).
• Create 2D manufacturing drawings and BOM; read GD&T drawings.
• Design BIW welding fixtures; knowledge of tolerances and materials.

Responsibilities

• Concept design of clamps, pins, slides, and retractable fixtures.
• Support welding lines process and layout design.
• Perform basic engineering calculations to verify design integrity.
• Create 2D drawings and BOM for manufacturing.
• Review GD&T drawings and ensure tolerance control.
• Collaborate with customers and conduct technical reviews.

Job Description

dumps)

- Exposure to Welding Lines Process & Layout (Spot Welding, ARC welding)

- Performs basic engineering calculations to verify design integrity

- Create 2D manufacturing drawings and BOM

- Knowledge of tolerances and materials

- Read and understand GD&T drawings

- Design experience in BIW welding fixtures

- Good knowledge of manufacturing and assembly process

- Experience in working on various OEM’s like GM, VW, BMW, FORD, DAIMLER etc.,

- Experience in conducting Technical Review with customer

- Exposure to multiple CAD tools will be an added advantage

- Experience in Teamcenter will be added advantage
