Job summary

Veltech Master is seeking a skilled CAD drafter to prepare accurate 2D and 3D fabrication drawings for MS and SS vessels, tanks, and process equipment, plus GA drawings and BOMs.

You will work with AutoCAD and, ideally, SolidWorks or Inventor, read engineering drawings, apply welding symbols and tolerances, and coordinate with design and production teams to deliver production-ready drawings. Strong attention to detail and independent work style are essential.

Qualifications

• Proficient in creating 2D drawings for fabrication and detailing.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of MS & SS fabrication processes and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate 2D and 3D fabrication drawings for MS and SS vessels, tanks, process equipment, structural components, and other engineering equipment.
• Prepare detailed fabrication and manufacturing drawings with dimensions, material specs, welding details, tolerances, nozzle orientations, supports, and other fabrication info.
• Develop GA drawings, assembly drawings, and component/detail drawings.
• Prepare and maintain BOMs based on drawings.
• Prepare P&ID drawings and update them per project requirements.
• Convert concepts into production-ready drawings.
• Coordinate with Design, Engineering, Production, and Project teams to ensure drawings suit fabrication.
• Review drawings for dimensional accuracy, material specs, fabrication feasibility, and compliance with requirements.
• Prepare cutting and fabrication details as needed for production.

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare accurate 2D and 3D fabrication drawings for MS and SS vessels, tanks, process equipment, structural components, and other engineering equipment.
• Prepare detailed fabrication and manufacturing drawings with dimensions, material specifications, welding details, tolerances, nozzle orientations, supports, and other required fabrication information.
• Develop General Arrangement (GA) drawings, assembly drawings, and individual component/detail drawings.
• Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) based on engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Prepare P&I / P&ID drawings and update them based on project requirements and engineering changes.
• Convert engineering concepts, sketches, and specifications into detailed production-ready drawings.
• Coordinate with the Design, Engineering, Production, and Project teams to ensure drawings are practical and suitable for fabrication.
• Review drawings for dimensional accuracy, material specifications, fabrication feasibility, and compliance with project requirements.
• Prepare cutting and fabrication details wherever required for production.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD drafting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and preferably SolidWorks / Inventor / similar 3D CAD software.
• Good understanding of MS & SS fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of welding symbols, fabrication methods, plate development, bending, cutting, and fit-up.
• Ability to prepare GA, fabrication, detailing, assembly, and BOM drawings.
• Good understanding of P&I / P&ID drawings.
• Knowledge of engineering standards, dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and equipment specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and dimensional accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with production and engineering teams.
