Job summary

Shitole Infra is seeking a CAD Engineer with Civil/Mechanical background and strong AutoCAD skills to prepare fabrication and erection drawings for projects.

You will coordinate with fabrication shop, site teams, clients and consultants to ensure accurate drawings and smooth execution. Experience in structural/Mechanical drawings, welding, and MTO is preferred.

Candidates with 2–6 years of relevant fabrication experience and a Diploma or Bachelor’s in engineering are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Civil or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fabrication and erection drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare GA drawings, shop drawings, assembly drawings, part drawings, and fabrication details.
• Prepare structural steel and mechanical fabrication drawings based on approved designs.
• Prepare elevations, sections, and connection details with material specifications.
• Create cutting lists, material take-offs, and BOM/MTO as required.
• Review drawings and convert requirements into fabrication-ready drawings.
• Coordinate with fabrication and site teams to resolve drawing issues.
• Prepare erection drawings with member ID, orientation, and levels.
• Incorporate site measurements and prepare as-built drawings.
• Check weld, bolt details, plate thicknesses, and material specs.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
• Maintain drawing registers and revision control.
• Visit yards/sites for measurements and inspections as needed.
• Support project team on fabrication/erection issues.

Job Summary

The candidate will coordinate with the fabrication shop, project engineers, site erection team, clients, and consultants to ensure accurate drawings and smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed fabrication and erection drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare GA drawings, shop drawings, assembly drawings, part drawings, and fabrication details.
• Prepare structural steel and/or mechanical fabrication drawings based on approved designs.
• Prepare plans, elevations, sections, connection details, and material details.
• Prepare cutting lists, material take-offs, and BOM/MTO as required.
• Review engineering drawings and convert design requirements into fabrication-ready drawings.
• Coordinate with fabrication and site teams to understand practical requirements and resolve drawing issues.
• Prepare erection drawings showing member identification, orientation, dimensions, levels, and erection details.
• Incorporate site measurements and prepare as-built drawings.
• Check dimensions, tolerances, weld details, bolt details, plate thicknesses, and material specifications.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and other project disciplines.
• Prepare revisions based on client, consultant, engineering, or site requirements.
• Maintain drawing registers and revision control.
• Visit fabrication yards and project sites when required for measurements, inspections, and technical coordination.
• Support the project team in resolving fabrication and erection-related technical issues.
• Ensure drawings are issued on time as per project requirements.

Required Qualification

• Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
• Good understanding of fabrication and erection drawings.
• Ability to read engineering, structural, and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of basic fabrication processes, welding, bolting, cutting, and material specifications.
• Good understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and engineering standards.

Experience

2–6 years of experience in fabrication, erection, structural steel, mechanical construction, industrial projects, or related engineering work.

Candidates with strong AutoCAD knowledge and relevant fabrication/erection experience may also be considered.
