Position: AutoCAD Drafter – Industrial Silencers & Acoustic Systems

Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering (or Diploma) with 2+ years of hands-on 2D AutoCAD drafting experience in heavy fabrication or sheet metal industries.

Job Summary

We are seeking an accurate, detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafter to generate shop-ready production and fabrication drawings for our industrial silencer and acoustic system product lines. In this role, you will convert engineering concepts into detailed 2D manufacturing drawings, flat patterns, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). You will work closely with design engineers and workshop supervisors to ensure all drawings are optimized for sheet metal fabrication, structural integrity, and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabrication Drawing Production
  • Create precise 2D production drawings, assembly layouts, and General Arrangement (GA) drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Detail internal acoustic components, including dissipative baffles, perforated liners, insulation packing, structural shells, and support brackets.
  • Generate flat-pattern developments for sheet metal cutouts, transition ducts, and conical diffusers.
• BOM & Material Optimization
  • Compile accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) detailing steel plates, structural profiles, fasteners, and acoustic insulation materials.
  • Assist in optimizing sheet layout patterns to minimize material wastage during CNC cutting and punching.
• Weld Detailing & Shop Support
  • Apply correct welding symbols (AWS / ISO), fabrication tolerances, and surface finish requirements (painting, sandblasting, galvanizing) on drawings.
  • Coordinate with project engineers and shop floor supervisors to clarify drawing queries and support smooth manufacturing.
• Drawing Control & Revisions
  • Update drawings based on Engineering Change Notes (ECNs) and maintain organized revision histories.
  • Adhere strictly to company layer management, block libraries, and standard drawing templates.

Required Technical Skills

• Software Proficiency: Strong 2D proficiency in AutoCAD (ability to work with dynamic blocks, layers, and external references/Xrefs).
• Fabrication Knowledge: Solid understanding of sheet metal bending allowances, rolling, plate cutting, and standard structural welding processes.
• Blueprint Reading & Standards: Ability to read complex engineering blueprints, understand GD&T basics, and apply standard piping/flange dimensions (ASME / EN standards).
• Domain Advantage: Prior exposure to heavy process equipment, pressure vessels, HVAC ducting, or acoustic enclosures is highly desirable.
