Responsiblefor converting approved engineering designs, technical information, and 3Dmodels into accurate engineering, fabrication, production, assembly, andinstallation drawings. The Drafter shall prepare drawings in accordance withcompany processes, procedures, engineering standards, and project requirements,ensuring that all drawings contain the information, dimensions, and tolerancesrequired for fabrication, assembly, and installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and develop detailedengineering and technical drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Revit.
- Prepare drawings based onapproved engineering designs, calculations, specifications, technicalinformation, and 3D models.
- Develop fabrication,production, assembly, and installation drawings.
- Produce drawings for variousproject levels, areas, and project stages.
- Develop detailed drawingpackages and book drawings.
- Prepare layouts, plans,sections, elevations, details, and equipment/support drawings.
- Generate and extract accurate2D drawings from 3D models.
- Ensure drawings accuratelyrepresent the approved engineering design and latest coordinated model.
- Incorporate engineeringcalculations, sketches, specifications, technical data, and engineer markups into drawings.
- Incorporate engineeringcomments, coordination comments, RFIs, design modifications, and approvedrevisions.
- Maintain consistency between 3Dmodels and issued drawings.
- Ensure dimensions, annotations,references, tags, material information, and technical notes are complete andaccurate.
- Provide sufficient technicalinformation on drawings to support fabrication, production, assembly,installation, and fit-up.
- Define and clearly indicateapplicable fabrication and assembly tolerances on drawings.
- Ensure dimensions, tolerances,interfaces, connection requirements, and clearances are properly coordinated.
- Prepare all work in accordancewith company processes, procedures, drafting standards, engineeringrequirements, and document-control requirements.
- Follow company drawingtemplates, numbering systems, revision procedures, checklists, and approvalworkflows.
- Support internal drawing reviewand QA/QC processes.
- Perform drawing revisions andmaintain proper revision control.
- Prepare drawing packages forengineering review and approval.
- Issue approved documentationfor fabrication, production, assembly, and installation in accordance withcompany procedures.
- Coordinate drawing informationwith engineering, BIM/modeling, fabrication, production, assembly, and projectteams.
- Identify missing, conflicting,or unclear engineering information and raise it for clarification beforeissuing drawings.
- Support resolution ofdrawing-related questions during fabrication, assembly, and installation.
Requirements
- Experience preparingmechanical, engineering, fabrication, production, and assembly drawings.
- Practical experience creatingdrawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Revit.
- Ability to develop detailed 2Ddrawings from engineering information and 3D models.
- Understanding of mechanical draftingand technical drawing principles.
- Understanding of fabrication,manufacturing, assembly, and installation drawing requirements.
- Understanding of dimensions,fabrication and assembly tolerances, fit-up, interfaces, and connectionrequirements.
- Ability to read and understandengineering drawings, calculations, sketches, specifications, technical data,and engineer markups.
- Ability to understand equipmentinterfaces, support arrangements, and installation requirements.
- High attention to drawingquality, dimensional accuracy, and document consistency.
- Ability to work according todefined company processes and procedures.
