Job summary

Unitop Aquacare Limited is seeking a skilled Draughtsman (Mechanical static equipment) to produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, and piping systems. You will create GA, fabrication, and assembly drawings, ensuring compliance with ASME and API 650 standards.

You will interpret calculations and data sheets, generate BOMs, and coordinate with engineers and other departments to ensure design intent is accurately translated into production and project

Qualifications

  • Graduate/Undergraduate/Diploma holder.
  • 4 years minimum as a draughtsman for mechanical static equipment design.
  • Proficient in CAD software and interpretation of design data.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for static equipment, including pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, and MVRE.
  • Develop GA drawings, sectional views, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings.
  • Prepare fabrication, assembly, and general arrangement drawings compliant with ASME, API 650, and other standards.
  • Interpret engineering calculations, PIDs, Plant Layouts, flow sheets, and mechanical design data sheets.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to interpret PFDs and P&IDs; revise drawings based on feedback.
  • Generate BOMs and maintain drawing documentation; ensure up-to-date records.
  • Apply tolerances, weld symbols, finishes, and technical specifications to drawings.
  • Coordinate with structural, electrical, and instrumentation teams to ensure design compatibility.

Job description

  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for static equipment, including pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, and MVRE
  • Develop general arrangement (GA) drawings, sectional views, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings.
  • Prepare fabrication, assembly, and general arrangement drawings, ensuring compliance with codes like ASME, API 650, and other relevant standards.
  • Interpret engineering calculations, PIDs, Plant Layout, flow sheets and mechanical design data sheets to produce accurate technical drawings.
  • Work closely with mechanical engineers to interpret design data, process flow diagrams (PFD), and piping and instrumentation diagrams (PID).
  • Incorporate feedback from engineers and clients, revising drawings as necessary.
  • Generate bills of materials (BOM) and ensure drawing documentation is up-to-date.
  • Implement changes as per design reviews, client feedback, and quality checks.
  • Conduct dimensional checks and ensure drawings align with design tolerances and project specifications.
  • Apply proper tolerances, weld symbols, surface finishes, and other technical specifications to drawings.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure design compatibility with structural, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
  • Support the preparation of technical documentation and reports.
  • Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
  • Prepare bills of materials (BOM), material take-offs (MTO), and welding maps.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical datasheets, reports, and calculation summaries.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand project timelines and deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with procurement, quality, and fabrication teams to ensure design intent is accurately translated into production.
  • Support the project team during fabrication, assembly, and installation stages, providing technical assistance as required.
  • Conduct self-checks and peer reviews to ensure drawing accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
  • Identify potential design challenges and propose solutions to improve manufacturability.

Required Qualifications
  • Graduate, Undergraduate or Diploma holder
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a draughtsman in mechanical static equipment design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
  • Strong knowledge of static equipment, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and piping systems.
  • Familiarity with international design codes (ASME, API, TEMA, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret mechanical design calculations and apply them to drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and time management.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
