Job summary

Rockman in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu seeks an experienced procurement professional to manage CAPEX/OPEX purchasing for greenfield automotive projects. You will coordinate with user departments, identify vendors, obtain quotations and ensure timely orders with required permits.

Qualifications

• Experience in CAPEX/OPEX purchasing for industrial projects.
• Greenfield project experience within manufacturing/auto sectors.
• Experience in automotive industry advantageous.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation abilities.
• Solid commercial understanding of procurement economics.
• Awareness of inventory management and statistics.
• Proven negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Knowledge of product and process workflows.
• Familiarity with quality systems (ISO/Six Sigma/Kaizen).
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all records of orders, receipts and dispatches.
• Review PR and technical specifications from user department.
• Identify vendors and arrange quotations.
• Coordinate with authorities for techno-commercial evaluation.
• Scrutinize indents before issuing purchase orders.
• Ensure contracts, bids and service agreements meet requirements.
• Finalize PRs based on rates and issue timely orders.
• Monitor vendor costs and delivery timelines, escalate defaults.
• Update open PO prices and quantities as needed.
• Coordinate with Finance for timely vendor payments and advances.
• Evaluate price comparison sheets with user dept and Plant Head.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Maintain all records of orders placed, receipts and dispatch properly
• Review PR and technical specifications received from user department
• Identify vendor and arrange for quotations
• Coordinate with concerned authorities for techno-commercial evaluation
• Scrutinize all indents before making any purchase order
• Ensure that contracts, bids and service agreements for purchase of materials and spares are processed as per the user department requirements
• Finalize purchase requisitions based on finalized rates and ensure timely issue of order along with required permits for timely receipt of material
• Ensure adherence to costs & delivery timelines by vendors and escalates any defaults to the Corporate Purchase Head
• Timely update open purchase orders for price & quantity revisions
• Coordinate with Finance department to ensure timely release of advance to vendors and complete payments within prescribed cycle time
• Evaluate price comparison sheet for different vendors and undertake review of the same with user department and Plant Head
• Ensure adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
