Job summary

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited is seeking an Assistant Manager - Maintenance BIW in Chakan, Maharashtra. The role focuses on preventive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance of BIW equipment including robotic welding cells, conveyors, and automation systems to maximize availability and OEE.

You will lead a team of technicians, coordinate with procurement for spares, ensure safety compliance, and drive TPM and Kaizen initiatives across the BIW shop to sustain production efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in automotive maintenance or manufacturing.
• Experience in BIW plants and robotic welding systems is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance for BIW equipment.
• Diagnose breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Improve equipment reliability and OEE through data analysis and TPM/Kaizen.
• Ensure safety and compliance with LOTO and EHS guidelines.
• Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with procurement.
• Lead technicians and contractors, providing guidance on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and robotics systems.
• Maintain maintenance records, SOPs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Assistant Manager - Maintenance BIW

• Ensure Preventive and Predictive Maintenance: Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance activities for BIW equipment such as robotic welding cells, spot welding guns, conveyors, fixtures, and automation systems to maximize equipment availability.
• Breakdown Maintenance Management: Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and restore production operations quickly.
• Equipment Reliability Improvement: Monitor machine performance, analyze maintenance data, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, productivity, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Safety and Compliance Management: Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety standards, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, statutory requirements, and company EHS guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Spare Parts and Inventory Control: Manage critical spare parts inventory, coordinate with procurement teams, and ensure the availability of maintenance materials to prevent production disruptions.
• Team Coordination and Technical Support: Lead and guide technicians, contractors, and maintenance personnel while providing technical support for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and robotic systems in the BIW shop.
• Documentation and Continuous Improvement: Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, breakdown reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), while driving TPM, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing initiatives for operational excellence.
