Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited in Chennai is seeking a Deputy Manager - BIW to oversee cost, delivery and development of BIW components. You will coordinate with DE officers, suppliers and the design team to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and first-time-right quality.

The role requires 8–10 years in automotive OEMs, BE degree, and hands-on SAP MM, APQP/PPAP knowledge, GD&T, and cost estimation. You will drive cost reduction, vendor evaluation, tooling investments, and APQP timelines across

Qualifications

• BE with 8–10 years of experience in BIW, automotive OEM preferred.
• Experience with PPAP, APQP, SPC and cost reduction.
• Hands-on SAP MM experience and MS Office skills.
• Knowledge of GD&T, pricing, and taxation concepts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver DE with respect to allotted platforms.
• Ensure TCP requirements of platforms are met by DE Officers.
• Plan development/procurement with vendors within time, cost and quality.
• Vendor analysis and capacity assessment for timing and capability.
• Ensure material and tooling costs stay within budgeted values.
• Support pricing in cost estimation and detailed costing of components/new parts.
• Coordinate with Design to ensure first-time-right delivery of the product.
• Variance analysis at each stage of development in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery; take corrective action.
• Develop and implement innovative approaches in cost reduction.
• Assess investments involved for tooling and vendor aid for components development.
• Support pricing cell in vendor selection as per policy.
• Meet MRD (Material Receipt Date) targets.
• Meet MPDS gateways for projects.

Deputy Manager - BIW (AD CDMM) Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Description of the job and key result areas:

• Accountable for Delivery of all DE with respect to the allotted platforms.
• Ensure that the respective DE Officers are delivering on the TCP (Time, Cost, and Performance) requirements of Platforms.
• Draw up a plan to develop/procure components with vendors within time, cost and quality objectives
• Vendor analysis and rationalization for capacity assessment, time frame agreement
• To ensure the material and tooling cost are settled within the budgeted values
• To support pricing cell in cost estimation activities component wise and details costing of the components/new part
• Effective co-ordination with the Design team to ensure first time right and end delivery of product
• Variance analysis at each stage of development in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery and corrective action
• Developing and implementing innovative approaches in cost reduction
• To assess / negotiate investments involved for tooling’s / vendor aid requirement for components development
• To support the pricing cell in selection of vendor as per guiding policy for the part
• To meet MRD (Material Receipt Date) targets
• To meet the Gateways as per MPDS (Mahindra Product Development System) targets for projects.
• To get actively involved in project feasibility studies
• Responsible for quality, Cost and delivery (QCD) targets for all new products and improvements in existing products
• Support STA counterpart in part development as per APQP process and Project timelines

Knowledge/Skills Required

• PPAP, New Part Development System (MP, EP, VP, PP), APQP, SPC, and Problem-solving techniques
