Job summary

ITC is seeking a Logistics and SCM professional to manage transportation, warehousing, and inventory processes in Mumbai, ensuring high service levels and cost-efficient operations. The role coordinates with Head Office to implement SCM initiatives and monitor statutory compliance in warehousing and transport.

The position focuses on optimizing transport networks, maintaining stock accuracy, and driving process improvements across branch-warehouses to meet service targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation management and warehouse operations.
• Ability to monitor inventory and ensure optimal stock levels.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance in logistics and safety.

Responsibilities

• Improvements in truck turnaround time, material handling efficiencies, safety and hygiene at the branch-warehouses.
• Continuously evaluate the warehousing & transportation network design to optimize costs.
• Implementing initiatives in logistics in coordination with logistics manager, Head Office.
• Optimum spends on transportation and warehousing resulting in meeting benchmark freight & warehousing cost/unit targets.
• Drive warehouse audit (material handling, infrastructure, hygiene, safety, systems) feedback and corrective actions.
• Infrastructure development and new warehouse selection, service provider evaluation for the same.
• Developing existing warehouse's capability (training) in the light of increased throughputs and complexity of operations.
• Monitoring pipelines of various categories at the warehouse stage.
• Monitoring safety stocks with respect to to changing dynamics of supply lead-time and demand variations and highlighting areas for improvement.
• Monitor and provide feedback on transport and WSP operations within the purview of the guidelines and regulations.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Effective and efficient management of the logistics and supply chain operations resulting in enhanced service levels and optimum spend. To coordinate implementation of logistics and SCM initiatives in liaison with Head Office.

KEY FOCUS AREAS:

• EHS compliance in warehouses.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Transport Management

• Improvements in truck turn around time, material handling efficiencies, safety and hygiene at the branch-warehouses.
• Continuously evaluate the warehousing & transportation network design to optimize costs.

2. Warehouse Management
