United Breweries Ltd. seeks a Manager - Logistics and Freight to lead inbound and outbound logistics, analyze data, and optimize freight costs while ensuring regulatory compliance and SOPs across operations.

The role covers freight capability development, warehousing optimization, and end-to-end logistics execution across India, with a focus on budgeting, process standardization, and performance benchmarking.

Responsibilities

• Lead transporters' performance evaluation and on-time placement.
• Perform data analytics and market intelligence to understand challenges.
• Negotiate pan-India inbound/outbound freight with a ~₹500 Cr annual spend via online auctions and offline modes.
• Conduct freight market visits and benchmark freight rates.
• Capture freight rates from various brokers and tabulate data periodically.
• Capture seasonality of freight markets and establish negotiation strategies.
• Plan warehouse layouts to optimize space.
• Implement best practices in warehouse operations.
• Provide safety and efficiency training to the warehouse team.
• Improve productivity and efficiency to support growth.
• Develop robust processes to manage stock skew while maintaining systems.
• Develop Depot/CFA operations, dispatch planning, transportation, and dedicated fleet management.
• Define and standardize daily routines and track dispatch compliance across India.
• Identify gaps in skills and provide training for improvement.
• Apply multimode transportation knowledge.
• Ability to handle annual freight budgeting and long/short range planning.
• Ability to analyze budget gaps at MTD and YTD levels.

Job description

Position Title - Manager - Logistics and Freight

Lead inbound and outbound logistics, data analyses, optimizing freight costs etc. and ensuring all logistics requirements are met while driving operational and financial excellence with ensuring operations comply (internal regulatory laws, compliances, SOP etc.).

Logistics Capability Development:

• Transporters’ performance evaluation (on time placement)
• Data analytic, market intelligence to understand the challenges
• Pan India inbound & outbound freight negotiation of 500 Cr annual spend for Market trucks through online Auction/ Offline.
• Conducting freight market visits & bench marking freight rates.
• Capturing the freight rates from various freight brokers in different markets & tabulate the data on periodic basis.
• Capturing seasonality of freight market & establish a strategy to negotiation process.

Warehousing:

• Warehouse layout planning to optimize the space.
• Implementing best practices of warehouse operation.
• Training to warehouse team (Safety/Efficiency etc.)

Logistics Operation:

• Improve productivity and efficiency to support incremental growth of the organization.
• Develop robust processes to manage skews while sustaining the systems and processes laid down
• Develop Depots/CFA operation, dispatch planning, transportation, Dedicated fleet management and system capability.
• Defining and standardization of daily routines and tracking compliance of daily dispatches across India.
• Identifying gaps in Skill/Capability in individuals in the function and provide appropriate training inputs for Improvement.
• Multimode transportation knowledge
• Capable to handle annual freight budgeting & long/short range planning.
• Capable to analysis the GAP against budget at MTD & YTD level
