Job summary

ABP Empower in Ludhiana, Punjab is seeking an experienced assembly line professional to oversee the daily production of sheet metal and powder-coated components. The role focuses on output, with quality checks and basic coating knowledge supporting the line.

You will manage and train line workers, ensure targets are met, and continually optimize processes to reduce manpower while boosting output. Prioritize safety and efficiency on the shop floor while maintaining equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years hands-on assembly line experience in sheet metal or metal fabrication.
• Powder-coated product assembly experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Quality checks and basic repair skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Run the daily assembly line.
• Assemble sheet metal, powder-coated parts and wired/mesh parts into finished products.
• Use pneumatic tools to fit fasteners on sheet metal and powder-coated parts.
• Use clip guns to assemble wired/mesh parts.
• Meet daily production targets on the line.
• Track productivity and line efficiency daily and fix issues.
• Oversee fixtures and jigs and maintain them.
• Suggest process changes to reduce manpower and increase output.

Job description

Purpose Of The Role

This role is in charge of the assembly line

• Putting together sheet metal and wired/mesh parts into a finished, powder-coated product, checking it for quality, repairing any defects, packing it, and making it ready for dispatch.
• The main focus of this role is production output.
• Quality checking and basic powder coating knowledge are secondary, supporting skills.
• 4-8 years of hands-on experience running or working on an assembly line in a sheet metal, metal fabrication, or wired product manufacturing unit.
• Experience with powder-coated product assembly is preferred, but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

Assembly & Production (Main Focus)

• Run the daily assembly line
• putting together sheet metal, powder-coated parts, and wired/mesh parts into the finished product.
• Use pneumatic tools to fit fasteners on sheet metal, powder-coated parts.
• Use clip guns (or similar tools) to assemble wired/mesh parts.
• Meet daily production targets on the assembly line, shift after shift.
• Decide the right number of workers needed on the line for the target
• not more than needed.
• Track productivity and efficiency of the line every day, and fix issues that are slowing it down.
• Look after the fixtures and jigs used on the assembly line
• keep them in working order, and flag repair or replacement needs.
• Suggest automation, fixtures, or process changes that can reduce manpower dependency and increase output.

Quality (Secondary Focus)

• Check assembled products for quality defects before they move to packing.
• Repair or rework defective pieces so only good product is packed and dispatched.
• Keep an eye on powder coating quality and flag powder coating defects (basic knowledge is enough
• this can be trained on the job).
• Report repeat quality problems so the root cause can be fixed, not just the symptom.

Packing & Dispatch Readiness

• Pack finished goods correctly and get them staged and ready for dispatch on time.

Manpower & Cost

• Manage and guide assembly line workers
• assign work, train them, and hold them accountable for output.
• Keep manpower cost on the line as low as possible while still hitting production targets.
• Train workers to handle more than one task, so the line does not depend on any single worker.
