Job summary

Tata AutoComp in Pune is seeking a dedicated professional to lead assembly line management, QA, and production planning across multiple sub-assemblies and final vehicle assembly stages.

This role emphasizes standardized processes, takt time optimization, NPI support, rigorous quality control, and active involvement in automation initiatives to boost manufacturing efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee vehicle/sub‑assembly operations including chassis, battery pack, motor, transmission, suspension, wiring harness, dashboard, trim, and final vehicle assembly.
• Ensure implementation of standardized assembly processes as per engineering specifications and work instructions.
• Monitor takt time and line balancing to achieve production throughput targets.
• Support line commissioning, model changeovers, and new product introductions (NPI).
• Ensure adherence to automotive quality standards and customer requirements.
• Monitor critical assembly parameters such as torque tightening, fitment quality, fastening sequence, and traceability requirements.
• Conduct Layered Process Audits (LPA) and support implementation of PFMEA and Control Plans.
• Lead containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for assembly‑related defects and customer complaints.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain and Material Planning teams to ensure smooth material availability at assembly stations.
• Ensure FIFO implementation and inventory control on the production line.
• Monitor production KPIs including OEE, First Pass Yield (FPY), Right First Time (RFT), and Line Efficiency.
• Optimize station layouts and material flow to minimize cycle time and operator movement.
• Support maintenance and troubleshooting of assembly equipment, torque tools, conveyors, poka‑yoke systems, and testing stations.
• Ensure calibration and validation of assembly tools, fixtures, gauges, and testing equipment.
• Participate in automation and digitalization initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency.
