Job summary

Nusummit Technologies, Chennai, is seeking an experienced Application/Production Support Engineer for a full-time, on-site role. The candidate will provide 24/7 production support for critical applications, leveraging Linux/Unix, SQL, and Oracle expertise. Familiarity with monitoring tools and incident management is essential. Salary up to 6 LPA.

Shifts are 247 rotational, with night shifts and weekend rotations. Immediate joiners preferred. Office location: Chennai-Kotturpuram.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in Application/Production Support.
• Strong Linux/Unix, SQL, and Oracle skills.
• Experience with monitoring tools like ITRS Geneos.
• Familiarity with ITIL and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Provide L1/L2 application and production support for business-critical apps.
• Monitor health, performance, and 247 production environment.
• Run Linux/Unix commands, shell scripts, log analysis.
• Write and run SQL queries for data validation and investigations.
• Work with Oracle DB for queries and data analysis.
• Monitor with Geneos or other monitoring tools (AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Splunk, Nagios).
• Handle incidents with defined SLAs and RCA.
• Coordinate with dev, infra, and DB teams for resolution.
• Maintain incident logs and handover docs.
• Support scheduled maintenance and deployments.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Application / Production Support Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Linux/Unix, SQL, and Oracle Database, along with experience in ITRS Geneos or other application and infrastructure monitoring tools.

The candidate will be responsible for providing production support, monitoring critical applications, troubleshooting production incidents, performing database-level analysis, and ensuring application availability and stability in a 247 support environment.

Candidates with prior experience in the Capital Markets, Stock Exchange, Banking, or Financial Services domain will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L1/L2 Application and Production Support for business-critical applications.
• Monitor application health, infrastructure, and system performance in a 247 production environment.
• Perform Linux/Unix commands, shell scripting, log analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Write and execute SQL queries for data validation, investigation, and production issue resolution.
• Work on Oracle Database, including query execution, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor applications using ITRS Geneos or other monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Splunk, Nagios, etc.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve production incidents within defined SLAs.
• Perform incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Coordinate with development, infrastructure, database, and other technical teams for issue resolution.
• Handle production alerts, batch failures, application outages, and performance-related issues.
• Maintain incident logs, shift handover reports, and technical documentation.
• Participate in scheduled maintenance activities and production deployment support.

Mandatory Technical Skills

1. Strong hands-on experience in Linux/Unix.
2. Good knowledge of SQL and Oracle Database.
3. Experience in Application Support / Production Support.
4. Hands-on experience with ITRS Geneos or any monitoring and alerting tool.
5. Good troubleshooting, debugging, and log analysis skills.
6. Understanding of incident management and SLA-based production support.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Capital Markets / Stock Exchange / Financial Services domain.
• Knowledge of trading applications, market data, or exchange-related applications.
• Exposure to ITIL processes and incident management.
• Basic knowledge of shell scripting.
• Experience supporting high-availability, business-critical applications.

Shift Requirements

• Must be comfortable working in a 247 rotational shift environment.
• Night shifts, weekends, and rotational weekly offs are part of the role.
• Candidates must be comfortable working from the BKC, Mumbai office.

Candidate Profile

• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in Application Support / Production Support.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle critical production incidents.
• Immediate joiners or candidates available for an early joining date will be preferred.
