Job summary

Career Tree Hr Solutions seeks a skilled IT professional to analyze and resolve issues at database and application levels. You will develop, debug, and tune MSSQL queries, maintain scheduled jobs, and support Java-based applications, including log analysis and JVM behavior.

The role requires deploying apps on Tomcat, basic server and networking troubleshooting, and coordinating with development, QA, and infra teams. A CS/IT/Engineering degree and ITIL/SQL certs are a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong MSSQL knowledge: procedures, views, functions, and jobs.
• Understanding of Java applications, logs, and JVM behavior.
• Experience deploying on Tomcat or similar Java servers.
• Basic server and networking knowledge (Windows/Linux, firewall, ports).
• Experience with log analysis and monitoring tools (ELK/Splunk).
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Willingness to work in shifts or on-call.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• SQL Server/Java/ITIL certifications are a plus.

Role & responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve application issues at the database and application level.
• Develop, debug, and tune SQL queries, stored procedures, and jobs in Microsoft SQL Server.
• Monitor and maintain scheduled database jobs, troubleshoot failures, and ensure database health.
• Understand and support Java-based applications; ability to analyze logs and application behavior.
• Deploy and manage applications hosted on web servers like Apache Tomcat.
• Basic support and troubleshooting for server and network-related dependencies.
• Liaise with development, QA, and infrastructure teams for escalated issues.
• Document standard procedures, workflows, and known issues/resolutions.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents.

Preferred candidate profile

• Database Expertise: Strong knowledge of MSSQL procedures, views, functions, triggers, jobs, and query optimization.
• Java Knowledge: Understanding of Java application structure, logs, and JVM-related behaviors.
• Application Hosting: Hands-on experience with Tomcat or similar Java-based web servers.
• Basic understanding of Windows/Linux servers, firewall basics, and networking concepts (IP, DNS, ports).
• Experience in monitoring tools and basic log analysis (via console, log files, or ELK/Splunk, if used).
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in shifts or on-call (if required).
• Bachelors degree in computer science / information technology / engineering or related field.
• Relevant certifications in SQL Server / Java / ITIL are an added advantage.
