Job summary

Schindler Group in Mumbai, Maharashtra, seeks a skilled Layout Designer to develop GA and GFC drawings for elevators, escalators, and moving walks across infrastructure projects. You will read tender docs, coordinate with architects and engineers, and ensure compliance with standards while delivering precise layouts in AutoCAD.

Ideal candidates have BE/BTech in a relevant field and experience with AutoCAD and BIM, plus knowledge of elevator/escalator projects.

Qualifications

• Graduation (B.E./B.Tech.) in Electricals/Electronics/Mechanical/Civil; post-graduation is an added advantage.
• Design, AutoCAD & BIM expertise required.
• Technical knowledge in Elevators & Escalators.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate layout drawings and GA drawings for elevators and escalators based on project specifications and site conditions.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and civil contractors to validate shaft dimensions and clearances.
• Ensure drawings comply with EN 115, IS 4648, NBC, and tender requirements.
• Review tender documents and interpret architectural/structural drawings for layout preparation.
• Prepare layouts for customer/consultant approval and manage revision cycles.
• Study customer drawings in tender and cross-check with tender specs.
• Prepare all layouts in AutoCAD.

Your main responsibilities

This position is responsible for developing, reviewing, and finalizing layout drawings like General Arrangement (GA) drawings, Good for construction (GFC), As build layout for elevator, escalator & Moving walks installations across infrastructure projects including metro rail stations, airports, railway stations, underpasses, and public transit facilities additionally will be supporting sales for layout reading on all tenders which Schindler India bids under Infrastructure Projects.

The operational responsibilities include the following.

• Prepare accurate layout drawings and GA drawings for elevators and escalators based on project specifications, site conditions, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and civil contractors to validate shaft dimensions, pit depths, overhead clearances, and structural load points.
• Ensure all drawings comply with applicable standards including EN 115, IS 4648, NBC, RDSO specifications, and customer tender requirements.
• Review and interpret tender documents, architectural drawings, and structural drawings to extract relevant data for layout preparation.
• Prepare layout submissions for customer / consultant approval and manage revision cycles until final approval is obtained.
• Study all customer related drawings in tender and cross check with the tender specification.
• Prepare all layouts in AutoCAD
