Job summary

Schindler Group in Mumbai is hiring an Assistant Manager for New Installation. You will oversee field operations for new installations, ensuring high-quality execution, timelines and strict safety standards.

Role requires a engineering degree/diploma and 5+ years in elevator/manufacturing, with strong project management, people skills and business acumen. You will coordinate resources, mentor teams, and collaborate with contractors and engineering teams to deliver outstanding results.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma Engineer in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics.
• At least 5 years in elevator or manufacturing industry with project management and people skills.
• Skills: Business acumen, technical and commercial know-how, project management, safety orientation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site installation and modernization activities, ensuring schedules, quality and safety.
• Coordinate and manage installation resources, delegating tasks to Fitters for assembly of components (including financial steering).
• Provide technical guidance to field teams to maintain project continuity and quality.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Maintain and submit installation documentation (plans, inspection reports, compliance records) timely.
• Communicate with contractors, suppliers, and engineering teams to align requirements and deliverables, and foster customer relationships.
• Lead and mentor installation teams, promoting safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Your main responsibilities

The primary purpose of the role is to oversee the field operations of new installations projects, ensuring high-quality execution and adherence to timelines and safety standards.

• Oversee the on-site installation and modernization activities, ensuring all projects adhere to established schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate and manage installation resources, delegating tasks to Fitters for the precise assembly of electrical and mechanical components incl. financial steering.
• Provide technical guidance to field teams, resolving any issues that arise during installations to maintain project continuity and quality.
• Conduct regular inspections of work sites to ensure compliance with operational policies, safety procedures, and high-quality standards
• Ensure all installation documentation, including project plans, inspection reports, and compliance records, are accurately maintained and submitted in a timely manner.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate closely with contractors, suppliers, and engineering teams to ensure alignment on project requirements and deliverables and maintain sustainable customer relationships and push supplementary sales.
• Lead and mentor installation teams, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement while addressing any team or individual performance issues.
