Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review temporary works schemes for tower crane installations, including foundations, supports, and lifting systems.
- Carry out risk assessments and prepare method statements for crane erection, operation, and dismantling.
- Work closely with crane suppliers, site teams, and project managers to coordinate designs and ensure safe, efficient project delivery.
- Prepare, review, and approve temporary works drawings, calculations, and installation procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant standards (including BS 5975) and industry best practices.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to verify the safety and integrity of temporary works.
- Maintain accurate records of designs, inspections, and approvals.
- Provide technical guidance and support to site teams regarding tower crane-related temporary works.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Civil, Structural, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in temporary works design and management for tower crane projects.
- Excellent understanding of tower crane types, installation processes, and associated works.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar) is advantageous.
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., CSCS, SMSTS, IOSH) are required.
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
