Job summary

WSP’s Energy business in Ireland is seeking a Technical Lead – Engineering Design Manager to drive growth and lead the design of HV/MV infrastructure. You will manage a design team, coordinate multi-disciplinary inputs, and lead bids to win work while ensuring timely, compliant project delivery.

The role focuses on developing relationships with Ireland’s electricity network operators, managing project delivery, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions across FEED and detailed design

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards chartered status.
• Experience in HV and MV Electrical Design for Ireland's Transmission System delivering projects for TSOs (ESB/EirGrid).
• Management of Owners engineer/construction monitoring/supervision roles.
• Proven track record in leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design management activities across FEED and detailed design phases.
• Coordinate inputs from HV, MV, civil electrical and primary disciplines.
• Ensure outputs align with project objectives, safety requirements, and regulations.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the full project lifecycle from concept to handover.
• Oversee adherence to standards and client specifications and support monitoring/compliance.
