Job summary

WSP is seeking an Assistant Design Manager to join the Ireland Energy team, based in Dublin, Naas or Belfast. You will work within a multidisciplinary group delivering power transmission infrastructure to enable Net Zero commitments, coordinating design outputs across HV/MV projects and supporting FEED and detailed design stages.

We value collaboration, clear communication, and a path toward Chartered status, with a hybrid working model and opportunities to develop across UK & Ireland offices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Substation design experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ambition to progress towards chartered status.

Responsibilities

• Support collaboration across multidisciplinary teams spanning HV/MV, cables, civil electrical and primary disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Assist in coordinating and developing design teams for HV/MV projects, ensuring effective communication and delivery.
• Provide support to design management activities, including resource coordination and tracking of deliverables during FEED and detailed design stages.
• Facilitate integration of inputs from various technical disciplines.
• Ensure design outputs align with project requirements, safety standards, and regulations.
• Support technical delivery across all project stages, from concept to commissioning.
• Monitor compliance with standards and client specifications, raising issues or risks as appropriate.
• Assist in defining and managing project scope and support design coordination during construction.
