Job summary

AA Euro Healthcare is recruiting Agency Support Workers for Day Service opportunities in the Blackrock and Mahon areas of Cork. This role supports individuals in a person-centred environment while candidates complete their QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare.

As a Support Worker, you will help service users participate in meaningful daily activities, promoting independence, dignity and inclusion within the community. Weekday daytime hours are expected.

AA Euro Healthcare is currently recruiting Agency Support Workers for Day Service opportunities in the Blackrock and Mahon areas of Cork.

This is a great opportunity for candidates who are passionate about supporting individuals within a person-centred environment and who are currently completing their QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare.

The Role

As a Support Worker within a Day Service, you will support service users to participate in meaningful daily activities while promoting their independence, choice, dignity and inclusion within the community.

Duties may include:

• Supporting service users with their daily activities and individual goals
• Encouraging independence, choice and social inclusion
• Supporting participation in community-based activities
• Assisting with personal care where required
• Supporting educational, recreational and life-skills activities
• Following individual care/support plans
• Maintaining appropriate documentation and records
• Working as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Ensuring the safety, dignity and wellbeing of service users at all times

Candidate Requirements

We would like to hear from candidates who:

• Are currently completing a QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare, such as Healthcare Support, Nursing Studies, Health Service Skills or Community Health Services
• Have a genuine interest in working within disability and Day Services
• Are reliable, compassionate and person-centred
• Have good communication and interpersonal skills
• Can work effectively as part of a team
• Have good weekday/daytime availability
• Have access to a car or can get to the location by public transport
• Are willing to complete the required AA Euro Healthcare onboarding and compliance process

These opportunities are specifically within Day Services and are therefore particularly suitable for candidates who are available during weekday daytime hours.
