Job summary

AA Euro Healthcare is seeking experienced Support Workers to deliver person-centred care for adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism across South Tipperary. Roles may span residential and day services with flexible hours and shifts, aimed at promoting independence and community participation.

Responsibilities include personal care, record-keeping, and working within a multidisciplinary team while upholding safeguarding and health and safety policies.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Major Award in healthcare or social care, or relevant third-level qualification.
• Experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
• Full clean Category B Irish driving licence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team and independently when needed.
• Good record-keeping and report-writing.
• Willingness to complete Garda Vetting and all pre-employment checks.
• Full eligibility to work in Ireland.

Job description

AA Euro Healthcare is currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Support Workers for opportunities across South Tipperary.

We are looking for candidates with experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism who are passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care. Opportunities may include work across residential and day services, with a variety of hours and shift patterns available.

As a Support Worker, you will support service users to achieve greater independence, choice and participation in their everyday lives.

The Role

• Providing person-centred care and support to adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
• Supporting service users with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Promoting independence, dignity, choice and community participation.
• Supporting independent living and social skills.
• Assisting service users to participate in recreational, occupational and community activities.
• Supporting individual care plans and person-centred programmes.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Supporting the physical and emotional wellbeing of service users.
• Following all relevant safeguarding, health & safety and service policies and procedures.
• Supporting medication administration where appropriately trained and authorised.

Essential Requirements

• QQI Level 5 Major Award in a relevant healthcare/social care qualification, or a relevant third-level qualification.
• Relevant experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
• Full clean manual Category B Irish driving licence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative when required.
• Good record-keeping and report-writing skills.
• A flexible and person-centred approach to supporting service users.
• Full eligibility to work in Ireland.
• Willingness to complete all required pre-employment compliance and Garda Vetting.
