Job summary

AA Euro Healthcare in Wicklow is recruiting experienced Social Care Assistants for flexible agency opportunities across Wicklow county. We offer relief, short-term and ongoing assignments in residential, respite, day and community-based services.

Qualifications

• Must hold a QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support or a related field.
• Full eligibility to work in Ireland.
• 3 satisfactory references.
• Current Manual Handling and CPR/First Aid certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible to work days, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• A full driving licence and access to transport are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support in line with individual care plans.
• Assist service users with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Promote independence, dignity, choice, inclusion and wellbeing.
• Support participation in recreational, social and community activities.
• Assist service users in working towards their individual goals.
• Observe and report changes in service users' needs or wellbeing.
• Complete care records and other required documentation accurately.
• Work effectively with social care, nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
• Follow HSE policies, HIQA standards, safeguarding procedures and infection-control requirements.

• Current Manual Handling and CPR/First Aid certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A professional, reliable and person-centred approach.
• Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• A full driving licence and access to your own transport are highly desirable, as shifts may be located in rural areas with limited public transport.
