Develocity is actively seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to help shape the future of our AI-native toolchain observability platform. You will drive backend architecture, implement scalable features, and collaborate with customers and engineering teams to deliver high-impact solutions across the product.

You bring extensive Java/JVM experience, a track record of leading complex initiatives end-to-end, and a passion for AI-driven software delivery in a distributed, remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• AI-driven software delivery experience.
• Strong Java/JVM expertise and scalable backend design.
• Proven ability to lead complex features end-to-end and across teams.
• Proficient written and spoken English.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, deliver, and maintain Develocity features.
• Own ambiguous initiatives from discovery through production to impact.
• Surface scope and delivery risk early and drive mitigations.
• Write discoveries and specifications turning inputs into a plan.
• Set coding and review standards and leverage AI in workflows.
• Dogfood shipped features and maintain engineering discipline.
• Collaborate with customers on product discoveries and rollouts.
• Participate in Develocity releases with the engineering team.
