Job summary

Allied Health/Nursing seeks a Social Care Worker to join our agency team, supporting temporary emergency residential placements for children and young people. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, child-centred care in a safe, therapeutic environment.

This agency role offers flexible assignments across a range of children’s residential services while maintaining high standards of care and professional practice.

Qualifications

  • Level 7 or 8 Social Care qualification required.
  • Experience in residential, disability or community services desirable.
  • CORU registration or application in progress required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to respond calmly to challenging situations.
  • Compassionate, team-focused approach to care.
  • Full Irish driving licence and access to a car.
  • Eligible to work in Ireland.

Social Care Worker – Children’s Services
Agency Contract

We are currently recruiting compassionate, motivated, and experienced Social Care Workers to join our agency team, supporting temporary emergency residential placements for children and young people.

This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children and young people while enjoying the flexibility of agency work.

About the Role

As a Social Care Worker, you will provide high-quality, child-centred care to children and young people within temporary emergency residential placements. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help create a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment where children can thrive.

This agency role offers flexible assignments across a range of children’s residential services while maintaining the highest standards of care and professional practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred care to children and young people.
  • Build positive, therapeutic relationships that promote safety, trust, and wellbeing.
  • Support children and young people with their daily routines, education, health, and social development.
  • Contribute to the implementation of individual care plans and placement goals.
  • Promote safeguarding and ensure the welfare of children and young people at all times.
  • Accurately maintain records, reports, and daily documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, social workers, families, and other professionals.
  • Respond appropriately and professionally to challenging behaviours and crisis situations.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive living environment.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Social Care (or a related discipline) is required.
  • Experience working in residential, disability, or community services is desirable.
  • CORU registration (or an application in progress) is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively to challenging situations.
  • A compassionate, team-focused approach to care.
  • Must hold a full Irish driving licence and have access to a car.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland.
