Job summary

Intact Insurance Ireland is seeking a Senior Property & Liability Underwriter to profitably grow and manage a Property, Liability and SME portfolio. The role focuses on technical underwriting, strong broker relationships and delivering exceptional service within delegated authority.

You will work with the Dublin Trading Team to drive growth while maintaining underwriting discipline, governance and regulatory standards in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of relevant commercial insurance experience.
• CIP qualified; progress towards MDI or ACII would be an advantage.
• Strong underwriting knowledge with ability to assess risk within delegated authority.
• Proven ability to build productive relationships with brokers and customers.
• Ability to balance profitability, growth and portfolio performance.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Property, Liability and SME risks profitably within delegated authority.
• Drive portfolio performance to deliver retention and revenue growth.
• Win and develop broker relationships aligned with strategy.
• Apply risk selection, pricing and clear rationale for decisions.
• Provide customer-driven solutions and resolve queries within authority.
• Contribute to audits and quality assurance to maintain controls.
• Collaborate across Underwriting, Distribution, Pricing, Claims and Risk Management.
• Mentor colleagues and raise underwriting standards.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve broker experience.
