Job summary

Intact Insurance Ireland is seeking a Senior Property & Liability Underwriter – Existing Business to grow and manage a profitable portfolio of Property, Liability and SME lines. You will combine technical underwriting excellence with strong broker relationships to deliver value and exceptional service.

Working with the Dublin Trading Team, you will apply risk appetite, pricing and terms within delegated authority while developing partnerships and driving portfolio performance.

Qualifications

• At least five years' relevant commercial insurance experience.
• CIP qualified, or equivalent; progress towards MDI/ACII is an advantage.
• Strong technical underwriting knowledge to assess risk and set terms within delegated authority.
• Sound commercial judgement focused on profitable growth and portfolio performance.
• Proven ability to build productive broker and customer relationships.
• Analytical, negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Customer-driven mindset with ability to handle queries and complaints within authority.
• Collaborative, adaptable and committed to continuous improvement.
• High standards of integrity, governance and regulatory awareness.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite for profitable growth within delegated authority for Property, Liability and SME risks.
• Drive portfolio performance and manage a panel of risks to deliver retention and revenue growth.
• Win and develop broker relationships aligned with underwriting appetite.
• Deliver technical excellence in risk selection, pricing and documentation.
• Provide a customer-driven experience and resolve queries within authority.
• Maintain underwriting controls and support audits and quality assurance.
• Use portfolio and market insights to shape risk selection and strategy.
• Collaborate across Underwriting, Distribution, Pricing, Claims and Risk Management.
• Build technical capability through coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve the broker/customer experience.
