Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is recruiting a Business Development Executive for a leading packaging solutions provider. The role covers Cork, Limerick, Clare and Galway, managing an established portfolio while pursuing new business opportunities.

You will engage with pharmaceutical, medical device, engineering and electronics customers, read technical drawings and propose solutions-led packages. Hybrid field-based role with a strong earnings package and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ experience in packaging sales or a related manufacturing environment.
• Experience in corrugated packaging sales is highly advantageous; cartonboard, labels, plastics also considered.
• Experience selling to pharmaceutical, medical device, engineering or electronics customers is desirable.
• Proven track record in account management, lead generation, business development and new-business growth.
• Ability to read technical drawings, dimensions and packaging requirements.
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Commercially driven, organised and self-motivated; able to engage with engineers, procurement and senior stakeholders.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel region-wide.

Responsibilities

• Manage, retain and grow a portfolio of established customer accounts.
• Identify, qualify and secure new business opportunities for packaging, testing and related services.
• Build relationships with engineers, procurement teams and key decision-makers.
• Develop solution-led proposals based on customers’ technical, operational and commercial requirements.
• Work with internal Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Service and Management teams to meet customer expectations.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, CAD drawings and dimensions to support proposals.
• Maintain a strong sales pipeline and achieve revenue and profitability targets.
