Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer for a 12-month contract in Galway. You will lead complex packaging projects from design through to implementation and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure performance, compliance and delivery targets.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of packaging experience or an advanced degree with fewer years, and a track record in packaging engineering, design and development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of packaging engineering experience or equivalent.
• Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience or PhD with relevant academic/industry background.
• Strong expertise in packaging engineering, design, development or related technical discipline.
• Ability to design, develop and test packaging solutions against product, regulatory and manufacturing requirements.
• Experience managing technical projects from concept to implementation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test a wide range of containers and packaging solutions.
• Define packaging specifications based on product requirements and cost constraints.
• Assess packaging performance against moisture, chemicals, temperature, light and handling.
