Job summary

Macfarlane Packaging is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead growth across Ireland, including Dublin and parts of Northern Ireland. You will manage a €2M+ turnover territory, expanding existing accounts, and building a robust sales pipeline through consultative selling and field activity.

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you’ll network, conduct packaging audits, prepare proposals, and close deals while using CRM tools such as Microsoft Dynamics.

Qualifications

• Two years of client acquisition-focused, B2B field/external sales experience with a track record in securing new business.
• Experience in packaging-related sales and understanding of products/technical specifications is desirable.
• Proven consultative, solutions-based sales with strong negotiation and closing skills.
• Ability to plan and manage a territory and retain key account customers.
• Experience running sales campaigns including cold-calling and networking to hit targets.

Responsibilities

• Drive growth by developing and implementing a sales plan across your territory.
• Negotiate terms, assess opportunities, and maximise profitability while expanding the customer base.
• Engage with decision-makers via networking, cold-calling, and audits to uncover cross-selling opportunities.
• Collaborate with regional/national teams to onboard customers and maintain high service standards.
• Use CRM tools to track leads, manage the pipeline, and support solution development.
