Job summary

Hunter Savage is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the design and development of heavy‑duty mobile machinery in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan.

You will report to the General Manager, shaping technical direction, and overseeing a team of engineers from concept to launch. The role demands hands‑on leadership, strong project and supplier management, and a commercial mindset to balance cost, quality and delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in design, development and launch of heavy machinery or related equipment.
• Experience leading an engineering team or function.
• Strong project management and supplier management experience.
• Commercial approach with budget management and cost, quality, delivery balancing.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of engineers across design, development and continuous improvement.
• Oversee multiple engineering projects with quality, cost and timescale targets.
• Drive product development from concept through design, testing, validation and launch.
• Collaborate with operations, quality, sales, service, supply chain and customers to define engineering requirements.
• Champion design control, change management and verification/validation processes.
• Lead root-cause investigations and implement cost-effective solutions.
• Manage engineering resources, budgets and project priorities.
• Drive standardisation to improve quality and cost.
