Job summary

Hunter Savage is seeking a Procurement Engineer in Cork, Ireland. The role focuses on sourcing engineering components, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring materials are available to support efficient production.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and work closely with engineering and production teams. The ideal candidate has an engineering or mechanical background with 4+ years in procurement or related roles, and experience in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain or related engineering role.
• Engineering or mechanical background highly desirable.
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with 3D CAD drawings would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure engineering components, materials and parts required for manufacturing.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times and commercial terms with suppliers.
• Raise and manage purchase orders through to delivery.
• Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure materials are available when required.
• Review supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications when sourcing components.
• Support cost improvement initiatives and supplier development activities.
• Assist with resolving any supply chain or component-related issues impacting production.
