Job summary

DesignBuild Search is partnering with a leading Irish contractor to appoint a Senior Contracts Manager/Director who will oversee multiple projects across commercial, retail and fit-out sectors.

You will drive commercial strategy, manage risk, contract matters and lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver value and ensure on-time, on-budget outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years in a comparable position.
• Background in Quantity Surveying, engineering, or architecture.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Design and commercial acumen with financial awareness.
• Effective in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Organised with attention to detail.
• Ideally chartered or working towards relevant accreditation.
• Good negotiation, persuasion and influencing skills.
• Good presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise and report regularly to the CEO on project progression.
• Develop and implement commercial strategies to minimise cost and maximise efficiencies.
• Provide commercial input into procurement strategies and evaluations for construction.
• Provide support on technical and commercial aspects of projects.
• Advise, write and support with project correspondence.
• Ensure risk registers, variation trackers, extension of time tracker sheets and correspondence logs are kept live and updated.
• Advise on contractual matters and contractual approach with contractors and supply chain.
• Identify contract grounds for claim and determine claim strategy.
• Review notices and contractual correspondence.
• Prepare Claims upstream and review and determine downstream.
• Manage and responsible for Collateral Warranties, Guarantees, retentions, performance Bonds.

Due to strong pipeline of work over the next 5 years’, they have an opening for a Senior Contracts Manager/Director. The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating between multiple projects simultaneously.
