Job summary

Gi Group in Dublin is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead construction projects from inception to completion. You will oversee site teams, coordinate subcontractors and ensure safety, quality and contractual compliance across multiple projects.

The role requires a strong background in construction management, excellent leadership and negotiation skills, and the ability to deliver on demanding timelines with a focus on programme and cost control.

Qualifications

• Relevant third-level qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Proven experience as Contracts Manager or senior construction management role.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, project delivery and programming.
• Strong understanding of contracts, obligations and project requirements.
• Experience managing site teams, subcontractors and multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and decision‑making skills.

Responsibilities

Contracts Manager

The Role

Our client, a well-established and growing main contractor, is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team in Dublin.

This is a senior position with responsibility for the successful delivery of construction contracts from commencement through to completion. The successful candidate will oversee project performance, coordinate site teams and subcontractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality and contractual standards.

The role will suit an experienced construction professional with strong leadership, commercial and contract management skills who is comfortable working across multiple project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful running and delivery of construction projects from commencement through to completion.
• Ensure contractual obligations, project requirements and agreed specifications are fully understood and adhered to.
• Monitor project progress and performance against agreed programme, quality, commercial and delivery targets.
• Manage and support site management teams to ensure projects remain on track.
• Oversee the performance and coordination of subcontractors and other key project stakeholders.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and other resources to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Work closely with Quantity Surveying and commercial teams to monitor project performance and contractual matters.
• Identify and address project issues, risks and potential delays at an early stage.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with company procedures, health and safety requirements and relevant Irish construction legislation.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability and continuous improvement across project teams.
• Ensure appropriate health and safety responsibilities are effectively delegated to Site Management teams and that compliance is maintained.
• Provide leadership, guidance and support to project and site personnel.
• Manage multiple priorities and ensure key project objectives and deadlines are achieved.

Requirements

• Relevant third-level qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Proven experience working as a Contracts Manager or in a senior construction management position.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, project delivery and programming.
• Demonstrable experience managing construction projects from commencement through to completion.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, contractual obligations and project requirements.
• Strong commercial awareness and experience working alongside Quantity Surveying teams.
• Experience managing site teams, subcontractors and multiple project stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and Irish construction legislation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and decision‑making skills.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while working to tight deadlines.
• Valid Safe Pass and relevant construction‑related qualifications.
