Job summary

Falcon Green is seeking a contracts manager in Cork to lead a large-scale site reporting to the Construction Director. You will ensure delivery meets client requirements while upholding safety, quality and environmental standards with a strong focus on sustainability.

The role requires managing a substantial team, coordinating with the client and design teams, and directing on-site commercial decisions in partnership with the commercial manager.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering, construction management or relevant site-based construction experience built up along with trades background.
• 5+ years in a similar position in Ireland or the UK.
• Ability to deliver large-scale building projects from greenfield through to PC.
• Strong CV with long stints in previous positions.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for the management of one of the large-scale sites reporting directly to the Construction Director.
• Delivery of the project, managing a large staff and ensuring client requirements while maintaining safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Focus on sustainability from design through delivery.
• Communicate effectively with client and design team.
• Be the main point of contact for the client with on-site commercial decisions with the commercial manager.
• Provide leadership to the project construction team to ensure works meet quality, health & safety and environmental standards, in line with planning permission.
• Prepare the Project Execution Plan including contracting strategy, programme, budget and risk mitigation.
• Manage daily operation of the site.
• Manage the project budget and contract administration in conjunction with the Project Quantity Surveyor.
• Coordinate with Planning/Development Team to value-engineer during Pre-Construction Stage.
• Coordinate key project stakeholders including statutory authorities and JV partners if required.

Job description

One of Irelands leading main contractors with a healthy pipeline of work in Cork City, and multiple new projects in the pipeline for early 2027 require a contracts manager in the region.

Duties:

• Overall responsibility for the Management of one of the large-scale sites reporting directly to the Construction Director.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall delivery of the project, managing a large staff and ensuring that the client's requirements are met whilst maintaining the highest Safety, Quality and environmental standards.
• The project must be delivered with a focus on sustainability. From design through delivery.
• The ability to communicate effectively with both client and design team.
• Be the main Point of contact for the client with responsibility for engaging with the client in conjunction with the commercial manager on site commercial decisions.
• Provide leadership to the project construction team to ensure works are carried out to the required quality, Health & Safety, and environmental standards, in full compliance with the Planning Permission.
• Preparation of the Project Execution Plan including Contracting Strategy, Programme, budget, and risks mitigation plan.
• Responsible for managing the daily operation of the site.
• Management of the Project Budget and Contract Administration in conjunction with the Project Quantity Surveyor.
• Liaison with Planning/Development Team to ensure project value-engineered during the Pre-Construction Stage.
