Job summary

Macfarlane Packaging in Rathcoole, Co. Dublin, is seeking a Sales Coordinator to support the External Sales Representative and keep customer orders moving smoothly. You will manage inquiries, quotations, and order progression while delivering exceptional service.

This role focuses on growing existing accounts through upselling, proactive outreach, and strong relationship management. The successful candidate will leverage Microsoft Dynamics and other CRM tools, thrive in a fast-paced environment,

Qualifications

• At least 12 months' experience in a sales coordination, sales administration or customer support role.
• Experience handling customer enquiries and making outbound calls within a busy telephone-based environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
• A friendly, professional and customer-focused approach.
• Confidence working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• The ability to adapt to changing priorities and identify practical solutions.
• A dynamic, forward-thinking attitude with a genuine desire to learn and develop.
• Commercial awareness and the ambition to contribute towards sales growth.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office. Experience using Microsoft Dynamics or another CRM system would be advantageous.
• Previous experience within packaging, manufacturing or distribution would be beneficial, although not essential.

Responsibilities

• You’ll play a pivotal role in underpinning our sales success, acting as first point of contact for customer accounts.
• You’ll manage day-to-day administration, process customer orders, prepare and follow up quotations, and help reactivate lapsed accounts.
• Identify opportunities to grow existing business through upselling and cross-selling.
• Take a proactive approach to outbound calls, engaging with existing and prospective customers to generate new opportunities.
• Build lasting customer relationships through responsive communication and a solution-focused approach.
