Job summary

The Irish Red Cross is seeking a Migration Services Caseworker in Dublin to support refugees and others under IRC programmes. This fixed-term, full-time role focuses on Ukraine Pledge Accommodation and other resettlement initiatives, delivering tailored casework and facilitating access to pledged accommodation.

You will build strong relationships with beneficiaries, pledgers, and partner organisations, maintain accurate records, and contribute to protection and GDPR compliance while occasionally

Qualifications

• Attention to detail, organised and reliable.
• Experience in face-to-face client work and/or casework.
• Direct case work experience supporting migrants.
• Experience with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Understanding of asylum and migration law/topics.
• Team player with good time management.
• Respect for confidentiality of service users.
• IT skills including MS Office, Excel and Salesforce.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide casework services to refugees and others under Irish Red Cross programmes.
• Engage with clients to assess needs, provide casework support and, where applicable, match into accommodation.
• Deliver tiered resettlement support from signposting to full-service casework for families resettled in Ireland.
• Coordinate with pledgers, clients and partner organisations to move clients into accommodation.
• Report and maintain tracking and placements with up-to-date statistics.
• Maintain accurate records, registers, files, case notes and correspondence.
• Manage client exits from direct service supports.
• Develop networks with IRC staff, volunteers and external partners.
• Attend trainings, conferences and meetings relevant to the post.
• Occasionally work out-of-hours or overnight with time off in lieu.
• Develop referral protocols with statutory and non-statutory agencies.
• Conduct reviews of cases and complete evaluation exercises.
• Ensure confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
• Contribute to Protection Mainstreaming to mitigate risks.
• Undertake other duties as required.
