Job summary

The Irish Red Cross seeks a Migration Services Caseworker to support Palestinian families evacuated from Gaza under the Gaza Medical Evacuation Initiative. This fixed-term, full-time role provides non-medical support, housing, education and access to services, emphasizing wellbeing and independence.

Based in Dublin with potential remote work across Ireland and travel to Dublin as required, the post reports to the Gaza Medical Evacuation Project Coordinator and involves comprehensive casework,

Qualifications

• Fluency in Arabic and English is essential.
• Attention to detail, organised, reliable and methodical.
• Experience in face-to-face client work and/or casework with strong communication and listening skills.
• Experience in direct case work/management supporting migrants, preferably in the voluntary sector.
• Experience of working with people from different cultural backgrounds, particularly migrants.
• Understanding of asylum and migration topics and relevant legislation.
• Team player with ability to plan and manage own time.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of service users.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive casework support to families participating in the Gaza Medical Evacuation Initiative.
• Conduct and review needs assessments and action plans for medical, housing, education, and social protection.
• Help families access statutory and community services (healthcare, education, social protection, local authorities).
• Coordinate medical appointment-related arrangements including transport and accommodation with providers and IRC colleagues.
• Work with Housing Team to support transition to longer-term housing.
• Give information, referrals and advocacy to overcome barriers and promote independence.
• Maintain accurate confidential case records in line with GDPR and IRC requirements.
• Develop relationships with IRC teams, volunteers, healthcare providers and stakeholders.
