Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an Engineering Manager, Managed Services based in Ireland to lead a distributed team maintaining modern cloud infrastructure. You will oversee managed services for customer environments built on Kubernetes and OpenStack, balancing operational excellence with engineering quality.

The role blends people leadership with technical decision-making, service delivery, and customer collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technology-related field or comparable professional experience.
• Proven professional experience in software engineering using languages such as Python, Go, C, C++, Java, or similar, and/or managing technical operations teams.
• Demonstrated experience with OpenStack.
• Strong testing, maintainable code, and software quality practices.
• Experience with Linux system administration; Ubuntu or Debian is a plus.
• Solid understanding of cloud architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience with agile software development methodologies and distributed/remote teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Willingness to travel ~20% for team events and customer meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a growing engineering team, improving development velocity and operational quality.
• Manage day-to-day delivery of managed services across customer environments, ensuring reliability.
• Establish disciplined engineering and operations processes to support scalability and maintainability.
• Monitor team health indicators and take action to improve collaboration and performance.
• Maintain focus on priorities, milestones, deliverables, and customer commitments.
• Represent the team with customers, stakeholders, product engineering, and external partners.
• Ensure SLAs are met across deployments globally.
• Drive continuous improvements to products, processes, and operational practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations to resolve complex issues.
