Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Security Operations Engineer based in Ireland. You will lead security operations and build security tooling across a broad tech landscape in a distributed, remote-first team.

You will mentor engineers, influence operational strategy, and contribute to open source security initiatives, while collaborating with security and engineering peers in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience across cybersecurity and/or software engineering.
• Experience in security operations, ideally leading a SOC.
• Strong software engineering background to design reliable security tools.
• Proficient in Python and Bash.
• Knowledge of Git, GitOps, IaC, and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Understanding of security monitoring, threat hunting, and incident response.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/STEM or equivalent experience.
• Interest in open source security.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and technical leadership across security operations initiatives.
• Design, build, deploy, and operate security software, platforms, and tooling.
• Monitor environments, detect threats, coordinate responses, and remediate.
• Assess controls and implement improvements to strengthen security posture.
• Automate security processes with software engineering and SRE principles.
• Mentor early-career Security Operations engineers.
• Plan and deliver security initiatives within an agile framework.
• Collaborate across teams to address technical challenges and resilience.
• Contribute to open source security projects and industry publications.
