Job summary

The Rose Hotel in Tralee, Co. Kerry, is hiring a part-time Hotel Receptionist to join our Front Desk team. The role covers guest check-in/out, updating guest profiles, handling cash and processing payments, and supporting Reservations with bookings and enquiries. Flexibility for 1–3 days, including weekends, is required.

Experience with Guestline/Resdiary is preferred. Fluent English and a customer-focused approach are essential for delivering exceptional service to our guests.

Qualifications

• 6-12 months experience in a similar role
• Use of a hotel reservations package essential
• Excellent customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Check guests in and out to hotel standards
• Update guest profiles on registration
• Process payments in line with cash handling procedures
• Answer telephone calls efficiently
• Relay enquiries to relevant departments with accurate information
• Assist Reservations with updating bookings (groups and FIT)
• Respond to reservation enquiries via email/phone promptly to maximise sales
• Maintain float, count cash and complete end-of-shift cash up per SOP
• Familiar with hotel offers, rates and promotions
• Provide local knowledge and recommendations to guests
• Be trained on sleepers report and send daily when required
• Understand corporate rates and credit agreements as applicable
• Assist Reservations with emails, ring-around and dining bookings for individuals and groups
• Attend in-house training and departmental meetings
