Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a backend Software Engineer in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong experience developing backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Proven expertise in designing and developing secure, scalable microservices that handle high traffic volumes.
• Advanced SQL knowledge with PostgreSQL and Oracle, and experience scaling solutions.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps practices, automated testing, and Git.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and testing coverage.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on improving delivery and quality.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of high-quality Java microservices that integrate with modern front-end frameworks and third‑party applications.
• Contribute to all phases of the SDLC including planning, coding, testing, reviews, and delivery.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, TPMs, and test engineers to align technical and business goals.
• Perform code reviews, submit pull requests, and support continuous improvement.
• Ensure adherence to Mastercard's engineering best practices and compliance with enterprise security, operations, and architecture standards.
• Optimize application performance and reliability for large-scale, high-traffic systems.
• Apply AI-assisted engineering opportunities across the SDLC, including code generation, test automation, and troubleshooting.
