Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our Commercial Connect API team in Ireland. You will lead the design, development and deployment of high-quality Java microservices, aligning with front-end frameworks and third-party applications, within an Agile environment.

You will mentor engineers, perform code reviews, integrate with CI/CD, and ensure security and reliability at scale across global B2B payments.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise designing and building secure, scalable Java microservices.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, RESTful API design and integration patterns.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and modern backend frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and deployment of Java microservices that integrate with modern front-end frameworks and third-party apps.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, TPMs and test engineers to align technical and business goals.
• Perform code reviews, submit PRs and drive continuous improvement across the SDLC.
