Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Commercial Connect API Team in a hybrid role based in Sandyford, Dublin, with three days onsite per week. Qualifications

• Extensive backend Java development experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot experience with scalable microservices.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, PostgreSQL/Oracle, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, DevOps, and Git.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of Java microservices.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, TPMs, and test engineers.
• Perform code reviews, pull requests, and improve processes.
• Ensure security, operations, and architecture standards.
• Optimize performance for high-traffic systems.
• Apply AI-assisted engineering opportunities across the SDLC.
