Job summary

Mastercard seeks a Lead Software Engineer for the Commercial Connect API Team in a hybrid role based in Sandyford, Dublin. You will lead the design and delivery of Java microservices that power B2B payments, align with front-end integrations, and drive secure, high-availability backends.

You’ll collaborate with engineers, product managers, TPMs, and QA to plan, code, review, and improve SDLC processes, leveraging cloud platforms and containerization to scale for high traffic.

Qualifications

• Backend software engineer with Java/Spring Boot experience.
• Design, develop, and deploy secure, scalable microservices.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration patterns.
• Hands-on cloud experience (AWS/Azure) and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of Java microservices.

• Ensure security, performance, and reliability for large-scale systems.
